Oberbaumbrucke--Overtreebridge?--This pretty bridge crossing the Spree river was built from 1894-1896 to a design by Otto Stahn. It is actually made from reinforced concrete, but the arches are covered with red brick. The most decorative element of the bridge is a Neo-Gothic arcade which supports a line of the U-Bahn. The central arch of the bridge is marked by a pair of crenellated Neo-Gothic towers. The bridge was not open to traffic for 12 or so years prior to reunification, as it linked districts from opposing sides of the Berlin Wall (DK 165)
