Lab 17: Tweening Motion and Shape

Getting to know and loathe creating and tweening symbols in Flash. For this lab, you must create a group of animated objects on the screen in Flash.

Draw a circle and make it a symbol. (ball1)

Duplicate that symbol, then edit it to change the color and add a stripe across the middle of the symbol. (ball2)

Use the motion tween to animate ball1 using position and scale.

Use the motion tween to animate ball2 using rotation and alpha.

Next, create a square, and do not make it a symbol.

Use a shape tween to transform the square into a circle. To do this, you'll need to add another keyframe for the layer on which you drew the square (maybe around frame 15). In that keyframe you can draw a circle (make sure it's on the same layer as the square). Then you can add a shape tween to the first keyframe. The sequence should highlight green and you should see a solid arrow pointing from the first keyframe to the second.

Have all of these animations going on at once, then call me over to check you off.
