Lab One

For the first lab, let's get to know Photoshop a little bit and practice some of our composition and design concepts. Complete the following tasks and then have me approve your work before you leave in order to get credit for the lab.

NOTE: While completing these tasks, be sure to keep in mind the concepts and hints in the Composition Lesson and the C.R.A.P. Lesson.

Create a new document at 400 x 400 pixels, in the color mode RGB. Make your background white.

On your background layer, use the paintbrush to create a wash of color with texture to it.

Create a new layer and use the line tool to draw a horizontal line. Position the line in the image using your move tool.

Create three more design elements -- basic shapes will work great -- on three different layers. Arrange them so they look nice in your image.

Add some text to your image.

Fine tune your design, and then give me a holler so I can check out your work.
